Stylusboy

Coventry based singer-songwriter Stylusboy will be releasing his new EP in May this year titled Whole Picture and will be released on Lazy Acre Records.
Having already released 2 EP's previously, the self-produced Fingerprint EP in 2009 and Blue Whale sessions in 2010 both of which are available to download. Following the praise received from the Fingerprint EP this lead to him recording a session for BBC Introducing.
The new EP is well crafted mix of heartfelt lyrics and stunning melodies that combine joyful exuberance with soulful melancholy. Many songwriters have tried and failed to mix these two opposite feelings but on here it's blends rather well. This is partly due to his slightly understated vocal performance which rather than have him doing Beyonce style R'n'B caterwauling for emotional effect it sounds like you're sitting in the room with him.
It's through this understated emotion that gives the songs a lot of warmth and that gives them their joyful nature. Songs that you can listen to on a summer's eve as the sun sets.
The EP is simply a great collection of songs that you will listen to time and again and always find something new within them.

Lazy Acre Records are better known for being the UK's finest purveyors of Norwegian indie-pop but in this case have taken a step away the from the snowy lands of Scandinavia and down the M6 to find another fine purveyor of indie-pop.
